China’s US-Listed Tech Stocks

Buy Baidu Inc. (BIDU): BIDU is a leading Chinese provider of internet search, targeted online advertising and other internet content services. Often touted as the Google (GOOG) of China.

- Mkt. Cap: $46.8B

- Revenue 2010: $7.9B (profit margin de casi el 50%)

 

Ctrip.com (NASDAQ:CTRP), the one-stop China travel service provider.

- Mkt. Cap: $15B

- Revenue 2010: $2.881B (profit margin del 35%)

 

NetEase.com (NASDAQ:NTES), the online game developer

- Mkt. Cap: $6.07B

- Revenue 2010: $5.507M (Its net profit margin was 44.36 percent for the last 12 months. Its operating profit margin was 46.77 percent for the same period)

 

Sina Corp. (NASDAQ:SINA), the Chinese online media company and owner of the Weibo microblogging service commonly referred to as the Twitter of China

- Mkt. Cap: $4.52B

- Revenue 2010: $402M

 

Focus Media Holdings Ltd. (FMCN): FMCN is a Chinese provider of audio-visual digital advertising through 131,006 flat-panel and 324,364 poster frame displays.

- Mkt. Cap: $2.7B

- Revenue 2010: $516M (profit margin de casi el 25%)

 

Youku.com Inc. (YOKU): YOKU, China’s largest video-streaming company, is more popularly known as the YouTube of China. However, in reality, it is more a combination of Netflix (NFLX) and YouTube. Netflix, because it offers mostly professionally-generated content licensed from movie studios and TV companies, and YouTube due to its reliance on advertising as a main source of revenue.

- Mkt. Cap: $2.27B

- Revenue 2010: $387M

 

Sohu.com (NASDAQ:SOHU), is a Chinese online media, search, gaming, community and mobile service group.

- Mkt. Cap: $1.94B

- Revenue 2010: $612.78M (profit margin del 25%)

 

Buy Renren Inc. (RENN): RENN, often called the Facebook of China, is a Chinese operator of a social networking platform that enables users to communicate and share information via Renren.com

- Mkt. Cap: $1.49B

- Revenue 2010: $76.53M

 

Giant Interactive (NYSE:GA): Giant isn’t even China’s biggest online gaming publisher, but it’s doing well, seeing its net profit margin at 52.23 percent for the last 12 months, and its operating profit margin was at 55.76 percent for the same period.

- Mkt. Cap: $958M

- Revenue 2010: $1.289M (profit margin de casi el 62%)

 

Changyou (NASDAQ:CYOU): Proving that social gaming and MMOs can be great business, Changyou is in the exact same field as Giant. Its net profit margin was 50.66 percent for the last 12 months. Its operating profit margin was 57.94 percent for the same period.

- Mkt. Cap: $709M

- Revenue 2010: $327M (profit margin de casi el 55%)

 

Buy E-commerce China Dangdang (DANG): DANG is a Chinese online retailer offering books and other media, personal care and general merchandise via Dangdang.com. Often called the Amazon (AMZN) of China, DANG is the number two e-Commerce player in China, behind TaoBao. Its business model is similar to AMZN except that it employs a courier-based delivery system that collects cash on delivery.

- Mkt. Cap: $370M

- Revenue 2010: $2.2B (profit margin casi del 0%)

 

SouFun (NYSE:SFUN): Skipping down to seventh place in this ranking, SouFun is a massively popular real-estate portal. Its net profit margin was 33.83 percent for the last 12 months and its operating profit margin was 41.57 percent for the same period.

- Mkt. Cap: $252.83M

- Revenue 2010: $208.07M (profit margin de casi el 28%)

 

Sky-mobi Ltd (MOBI): MOBI is a China based operator of Maopao mobile application store providing single-player games and mobile music and books.

- Mkt. Cap: $130M

- Revenue 2010: $675M

 

China Techfaith Wireless (CNTF): CNTF is a Chinese designer of smart phones, feature phones, wireless modules, data cards, and printed circuit board assemblies.

- Mkt. Cap: $96M

- Revenue 2010: $271M

 

Camelot Info Systems (CIS): CIS is a Chinese provider of customer relationship management and supply chain management software for enterprises.

- Mkt. Cap: $102M

- Revenue 2010: $192M
